THE BINKY FAIRY (10/15/2006)


Sunday evening, we had a visit from the Binky Fairy. Before bed, Zoe gathered all of her binkies and put them in a bag (we had talked to her about the Binky Fairy on and off for about two weeks before doing this). Zoe and Daddy then hung the Binky Bag on the tree by our patio. While little Zoe slept, the Binky Fairy took the binkies and left a PRESENT!! When Zoe woke in the morning, there was a present under the tree. A 'rella scooter. She loved her present and rode it around the house all day. A SUCCESS!! So far anyway. It took her about two hours to fall asleep on Sunday (me spending the last half sitting by her crib - at one point she was "sucking" on the side of the sippy cup of water she takes to bed). But, she pretty much went down without a mention of binky at nap time and bedtime Monday night. I might have been more upset about the loss of Binky than she was - lots of teary eyes while gathering and hanging them while trying to keep her excited. She is just getting so gosh darn grown up.
