Thanks to help from Uncle Ben with the trim, my room is almost done. Tony can't wait to get me out of the den & down here. It certainly is bright & cheerful.

All About Me

At school today Zoe was finally (they went alphabetically by first name) the star of the day. She got take something in that the kids had to try to guess using 3 clues she made up.

1. It rhymes with bell.
2. It comes from the beach.
3. You can hear the ocean in it.

This was a shell she got from the tooth fairy.

Then, she filled in the following & read it to the class.

She didn't share this until this evening - after misbehaving & being yelled at by me all afternoon. You would think she would have behaved better for one of her favorite things...

This morning at the bus stop, Zoe asks, "Aren't you still sad when I go to school." I replied, "Of course I miss you when you are gone." She replied, "Why don't you cry when I leave anymore?" :)

Gifted & Talented

At the dinner table tonight, we were discussing Zoe's curriculum night at school on Wednesday and who should go to that versus who should take the kids to swimming. Tony jokingly says all he wants to know is when the gifted and talented program starts. As he is saying this, Zoe starts hitting herself on the head, for no reason...definitely a sign of gifted and talented.

How Fancy

Zoe & her friend, Anabelle, attended a Fancy Nancy party at the library this afternoon. They read books, made crafts & had a snack.

1st Lost Tooth

Yesterday, Zoe lost her first tooth while playing at her friend, Kaitlyn, grandmother's house.

Of course, the tooth fairy brought her treasure last night.

Happy, Happy Birthday to Me. Sleeping in, a pedicure, haircut, shopping at the scrapbook store, Jimmy Johns for lunch, 2 naps, no diapers, flowers, a balloon, crab legs & creme brulee for dinner followed by presents - all wonderful. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

First Day of School

Zoe had a great first day of school. She especially loved riding the bus. Not suprisingly, her favorite part of the day was recess.

We celebrated Kayli's 12th birthday this evening at a Japanese steakhouse in downtown Brighton, followed by cheesecake & presents at their house.

School Orientation Day

This morning, Zoe had Kindergarten orientation. She got to meet her teachers, see her classroom & make new friends.

Vroom, Vroom!!

Zoe wasn't too sure she wanted to ride Poppa's motorcycle until she saw the pictures of all the other girls riding. After a balk on Saturday evening (the bike wouldn't start), Zoe got to ride Poppa's motorcycle on Sunday for a quick trip around the block.

Nate got to take a quick ride in Poppa's Corvette from the driveway into the garage.

Cedar Point

Friday, we met Grandpa & Poppa Bailey at Cedar Point. It was an awesome day with unbelievable weather. Zoe had a great time during her first trip to Cedar Point. We stayed the whole day from about noon until closing at nine. Both kids were unbelievably well behaved. No crying, no tantrums, nothing - even with Nate skipping his afternoon nap. As we were walking out, Zoe asked if Cedar Point was open the next day. She can't wait to go back next year.

The Green Bug

Last night, Zoe & I were up from 3:00 to 4:30am making sure that the bug she saw on her bed was not coming back. It was green & oval shaped, about the size of the heel on her Cinderella slipper with a head the size of Nathan's eye & had no ears. She thought maybe she had killed it, but wasn't sure. But, she was most definitely sure that it was NOT A DREAM!!!

At the Beach

We had a great day at the beach at Jean Clock Park on Sunday. Zoe loved everything about it. Nate hated it all - the waves, the wind, the water, the sand. At one point, I put him on our blanket and he crawled back into the stroller. Maybe we'll have better luck next year...
