Zoe & I spent this week visiting the Messners. Zoe, Bailey & Tanner had a great time playing (most of the time). They went swimming, played in a GIANT bouncy house & even went horseback riding.
The stories of Tony, Trica, Zoe, Nate & Alli and how we are living happily ever after - most of the time.

Horseback Riding 7-16-2007
This evening, I went with Wendi to her horseback riding lesson. It was an interesting experience as I never been on a horse. I must say actually getting a horse to do what you want is not the easiest task. It is a lot more work than it looks like. It is safe to say that I did not have any undiscovered passion for horses. But, I am glad I went. It is not something that you get the opportunity to do everyday. (Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of me on Sarah, but these are the boots I wore.)

Happy Fourth of July!!

This evening, we had the Saunders over for s'mores & sparklers to celebrate the 4th!! The s'mores were a marginal hit with the kids (a big one with the adults). The kids loved the sparklers and by my math each did about 24 a piece. Tony & Jim also had fun with a few adult fireworks. Happy Independence Day!!

"I'm scared of giants"
This morning while on our way home from ballet class, I told Zoe that Grandma & Poppa Bailey were coming to visit, as well as Aunt Marilyn & Uncle George. Our conversation...
Me: "Do you remember Aunt Marilyn & Uncle George from Arizona?"
Zoe: "I'm scared"
Me: "Why are you scared?"
Zoe: "I'm scared of big people."
Me: "Big people?"
Zoe: "Yes, I'm scared of giants"
Me: "No giants are coming."
Zoe: "What kind of Grandma & Poppa"
Me: "Grandma & Poppa Bailey"
Zoe: "Yeah!!"
To clarify, no giants have ever visited. Now, Uncle George is a little large, but definitely not giant status (I guess it just all depends on your point of view). Nonetheless, we had a fun evening with our guests. We had dinner in downtown Ann Arbor at the Red Hawk. Zoe enjoyed showing off her big girl room & thought that 10:30pm was way too early for bed...hopefully she'll sleep in some....

Zoe @ Ballet
Zoe started taking an "intro to ballet" class week. She is really enjoying it (of course). Today was her 3rd class & I recorded the performance that they do at the end of the class.

Music in the Park
This morning after ballet class, Zoe & I met Emma, Mary & Mrs. Saunders in Plymouth for Music in the Park. We had a picnic of Jimmy John's for lunch. Almost exactly when the music began, it started to storm & pour down rain. So, we missed the music, but Zoe had a nice time playing briefly with Emma & Mary. For a more detailed account of yesterday & today's fun check out Ann's blog!!

At the Spray Playground
This morning, we met Emma, Mary & Mrs. Saunders at the Canton Spray Playground. It was very hot & we thought the girls would enjoy the water. But alas, no, they enjoyed playing at the small playground nearby (especially the sand) & eating their snacks. Maybe they will actually play in the water next time...

Father's Day @ the Toledo Zoo

Zoe & I met Grandma & Poppa at the Toledo Zoo today to celebrate Father's Day (Tony unfortunately had to work today). Zoe had a great time seeing the animals, but really like the merry-go-round & train. She found the hippo's particulary funny & of course, enjoyed the butterfly exhibit (even though none landed on her).

The Liberty Fest Parade
This morning, we attended the Canton Liberty Fest parade. Once it was over, I asked Zoe what her favorite part of the parade was. Her answer...
1. "The twirllers"
2. "The throwing of the candy"
3. "The picking up the candy"
Needless to say, she had a great time.
