Spring Soccer

The Supergirls had their first spring soccer game today. Due to all of the rain, they only managed to have one practice before this game. The lost, by a lot, but still had fun. And, if you ask Zoe, she will probably tell you they won. She was convinced the other team only had 2 goals at one point, even though they had scored 3 on her while she was in goal.

Nate at Swimming

I finally got Nate signed back up for some swimming lessons and he loved it. He had a smile on his face the entire time.

Nate is supposed to have his chin on the blue line at the edge of the pool in this photo. For some reason, the way he is holding himself just cracks me up.

Humane Society

Zoe's Daisy troop donated 25% of their cookie money to the Michigan Humane Society. With the money, they purchased:

(2) Bags totaling 104 lbs of Dog Food

(1) 4 lbs of Raw Hide Dog Treats

(8) Cat Toys

(8) Containers of Disinfectant Wipes

(1) Gallon of Dishwashing Liquid

(24) Double Rolls of Environmentally Friendly Paper Towels

Each girl also made a kitty fort to donate. These little homes help the kitties/cats with stressful situations (maybe we need to make a couple for Alex and Nicholas). Their visit even ended up being part of an article in YAKS corner, which is mini-newspaper for kids that's filled with local stories, events and people plus current events. The article features their tour guide at the Humane Society, Ron Blauet. You can see it here online at http://nieonline.com/detroit/parents.cfm. Click on download this week's issue. They are on page 2.

Tae Kwan Do

Zoe and her Daisy troop had a Tae Kwan Do class to learn about being courageous and strong. The girls and a quite a few of the parents (including me) had fun learning some basics about Tae Kwan Do.

Bunny Eggs!

While Zoe was at Tae Kwan Do for Daisies, Tony took Nate to Bunny Day here in the village. The festivities included an Easter Egg hunt. Nate has been calling the eggs he got bunny eggs!

"Welcome to Moo Mart!"

Nate has been saying some of the cutest things lately, including, "Welcome to Moo Mart!" For a long time, I thought he was just mispronouncing Walmart (which was odd because, I think he's only ever been to walmart once.) Well, today we were watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (Nate's favorite show, by far) and there is Moo Mart - Clarabelle's new store in Mickey Park! He sets up a shop usually selling only 1 item and wants you to come buy it. Too cute!

"So come down to the new Moo Mart, ♪ Where your shopping day should always start ♪ " - (imagine Clarabelle Cow singing)

Zoe's Friend Party

In no particular order: Emma B., Emma N., Emma S., Ella, Isabella, Peyton, Judy, Kaylin, Kaitlyn, Anabelle, Grace, Hailey, Parker, Bailey, Tanner, Mary, Faith, Rachel, Elizabeth, Audrey, Lucy & Zoe

The girls (plus Tanner) had fun coloring giant Rapunzel pages on the walls, making Pascal party blowers, decorating party bags and playing pin the hair on Rapunzel. It was a crazy couple of hours, but Zoe had fun.

St. Patrick's Day

When we got up this morning, we noticed that a leprechaun had been up to some mischief at our house. He turned our milk and toilet bowl water green and gathered up all the green toys to taunt us.

Leprechaun Trap

Zoe's trap had a pretty little doll, laser activated latching door, lucky charms and a gold coin to lure and trap the little leprechaun that was causing chaos at school, but unfortunately he got away cleanly.

Fat Tuesday

On Fat Tuesday, we had New Orleans BBQ Shrimp & Jambalaya for dinner with Beignets for desert. The kids made a jester and we played a game to celebrate this day.

Ann Arbor Hand's On Museum

Today, we went to the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor with our MOPS group. Both of the kids had lots of fun. Zoe's favorite thing was the Laser Harp - which is pretty cool. It was our first trip, but definitely won't be our last.

For the 100th day of school, Zoe made a heart of 100 things she loves. (And, yes that is Guy Fieri, she loves Minute to Win It)

I imagine Chef Nate had lots of fun making this mess with salt. Notice that the red cup is FILLED with salt. I had just bought this salt a few days ago, so it was pretty full & is now EMPTY.

This afternoon, we took the kids sledding. Neither of them lasted very long...maybe better luck next year.
