Meeting at the Toledo Zoo

All the girls met today at the Toledo Zoo to return all children to the appropriate homes...

Master Bathroom Paint

While Zoe spent the week at her Aunt Kathy & Uncle Jason's with Shannon, I did lots of projects around the house (apparently, I am not much for relaxing while on *vacation*). This is a picture of the master bathroom that I finally painted (the last room in the house to be painted). I am not sure that I love the color...but I can always repaint it (& probably will as anyone who knows me, knows my obsession with painting).

Lanudry Room Cabinets

Another project while Zoe was gone was putting up cabinets in our laundry room. We had wire shelves before that were filled with stuff...

The plan was to use cheap ready-to-finish cabinets from Home Depot which we purchased & I disassembled & sanded & primed & painted the cabinets (but not the doors yet). However, when Tony & I went to hang the cabinets, I realized that one of the larger cabinets was the wrong size (having been primed & painted it was unreturnable). Also, I apparently did not do a very good job sanding as the cabinets did not look that great either, so I made a last minute judgement call to buy finished cabinets from Lowes of which I only had to exchange two because we somehow managed to buy the wrong size for the upper cabinets.

The finish matches our kitchen (& bathroom cabinets). Due to the installation technique, I also ended up having to paint the room. It's just a "basic grey" & I don't love it, but there's always tomorrow...

It does look very nice & Tony did a great job hanging the cabinets.

Front Door Sidelights

Having previously painted the front door black to match the screen, I painted the side lights black this week also...

Roller Skating

This morning, I asked Zoe if she wanted to go roller skating & she said "Yes, yes, this time I am going to skate by myself..." So, we met the Saunders at Skatin' Station II. Zoe did pretty well by herself (although she still wanted to hold my hand a lot). She actually did some "skating", but was mostly concerned about when snack time was. After being fed, Zoe was much more receptive to the gaint skating "Roller Roo" & actually did the chicken dance (sort of anyway).

Wedding Plans...

Friday & Saturday, Zoe & I travelled to Stevensville to help Aunt Amanda with her wedding plans. It was a busy trip filled with trips to a dress shop, 3 reception halls, a florist & a bakery. Zoe especially enjoyed trying on flower girl dresses & asked Aunt Amanda if she wanted to be in her (Zoe's) wedding. She also wants to wear a crown for the wedding. Quite the little diva... To save some $$, Amanda has "decided" on faux flowers and we spent time shopping for flowers & playing with them for the bouquets & table decorations. They are very fun & colorful...

7-20-2007 Happy Birthday MOM!!

Mom & Dave came up to celebrate her birthday this weekend. On Friday, we went to the Ann Arbor Art Fair. We did lots of browsing, but no purchasing ... maybe next year. Saturday, we celebrated with chocolate cake (quite yummy - if I do say so myself) & presents. Zoe helped with the candles & I must say my mom looks really good for 133. Happy Birthday Mom!!

I'm a Cowgirl Baby 7-17-2007

Zoe & I spent this week visiting the Messners. Zoe, Bailey & Tanner had a great time playing (most of the time). They went swimming, played in a GIANT bouncy house & even went horseback riding.

Zoe rode a horse for the 1st time (accompanied by Ron). This is quite a difference from our last visit. She was afraid of MoJo & wouldn't get any closer than 5 feet to him.

She does makes quite a cute cowgirl, but I don't see horse ownership in our near future.

Horseback Riding 7-16-2007

This evening, I went with Wendi to her horseback riding lesson. It was an interesting experience as I never been on a horse. I must say actually getting a horse to do what you want is not the easiest task. It is a lot more work than it looks like. It is safe to say that I did not have any undiscovered passion for horses. But, I am glad I went. It is not something that you get the opportunity to do everyday. (Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of me on Sarah, but these are the boots I wore.)
